Right now I'm attempting to get my gear and everything else organized, that garage is getting to be too full. :o
My hardware store is completely closed down and doors shut but, I've gotten a good haul of decent supplies to last for many, many years.
Several lanterns, lots of parts and pieces to keep items functional, lots of propane regulators, hoses and fittings and a gift for purchasing so much from them.
The store owners gave me a two bin deep fryer that is propane powered. Now I just have to find a reason to use it. :D I was working toward the big flatscreen TV but someone came in and bought about 8 chainsaws and 5 weedwackers at one swellfoop. Can't stand up to that much money!
Anyway, I did pick up more canning supplies, those $1 for a dozen jar lids are a good investment, some more lamp oil and long shelf life foodstuffs.
Now I have to get it all organized.

Brought in half-a-vestibule of firewood this morning and kindling. I have been making fun of my wife for the past two years - she picks up all twigs and small branches, residue when we trim bushes, bark, wood pieces, and she stashes them in her "kindling boxes". Fire sure felt good last night and am glad we prepared for the winter, somewhat, that is.

The other day I was tinkering in the shop when one lens in my reading glasses fell out and bounced off the concrete floor. The tiny screw that holds the frame together and also retains the lens in the frame had loosened up and fallen out. I looked everywhere for the screw with my now cyclops eye sight but could not find it. I looked inside the glasses case too but found only sawdust and other unwanted debris. Had to go into the VA hospital and they fixed the glasses for me. I talked the woman into giving me a little eyeglass repair kit that contains several very small screws along with a micro screwdriver and an assortment of frame "rests" where the frame sits on your beak. This kit could save your bacon should everything shut down for some reason. I intend on getting another one and carrying it in my BOB..

Well on this final day of the month I felt the need to visit the lost library and make sure my downloads were current. I was missing a dozen or so, and then I copied the entire folder over to a flash drive. I plan to burn a couple CD's to store, just in case.
I went to the range earlier this morning and on the way stopped and bought an extra couple boxes of ammo for my pocket carry, and an extra box of 22lr.
Earlier in the month we had an issue with my son breaking his glasses, and we had to replace them. Actually I broke them with cleaning them (cheap frames) but we had to wait for a week while his new pair came in. So I had to repair his frames. I first tried to solder them, and with that would hold it had no strength. So I bought a 2 part JB Weld, mixed a little together and coated the soldered repair with a toothpick trying to smooth it as best possible. That set up and held all week and is stronger than the original frame metal. I would highly recommend anyone with wire frame glasses have a jb weld kit put back in your supplies. It might just save the day.
If I get time this afternoon, Im planning to get the generator out and service it. Getting to be that time of year.
