Can't remember if I posted this elsewhere but it fits.
Got a motor for my roto-tiller finally, now I just have to get it put together so I can churn up the backyard and get something going finally.
I also bought 2 more 20 lb. propane bottles for keeping extra fuel. Once I get the 4th one I have back from my son, I'll get them filled up. One will be attached to the grill for cooking al fresco and the other 3 will be kept stored.

Just finished double-checking my potassium iodide supplies. Might need them! They will begin to be hard-to-find, just like heirloom and non-hybrid seeds.

Well I was going to order the thyrosafe from KI4U yesterday, and I delayed, figuring Id see how things went overnight... today I see headlines like multiple meltdowns, so I went to enter my order and found they are sold out. So I ordered the 3 bottles of KI03, and then came back and ordered the 5 pack of rad stickers from KI4U. I feel this is a minimum, ANYONE should have at this stage in the game. I had a discussion with my wife, she figured 'they' would tell us if there was anything to worry with... HA, I reasoned with her and you should reason with things in your own mind. If the government came out and said, 'its heading this way, everybody take your KI', do you realize what type chaos that would bring? But if you have a rad sicker on your front door, or window you will be able to check daily, what is really in your area... Just my thoughts... :cowboy:

I bought potassium iodide tablets years ago, I believe that they are still good. We have a nuclear power plant 110 miles to the north of us.

Right now you will have a hard time finding any potassium iodide, Walgreens, Safeway, Rite Aid, Wally World are all sold out. So people are thinking for themselves and not believing the news reports about how safe it is and not to be alarmed about any radio active clouds reaching the western U.S. I purchesed a case of K1 a couple of years ago and have kept it stored in a cool dry, dark storage area. I do not have any of the rad stickers but will order some immediately. I agree with side_job that you cannot count on the govt telling you anything. When the Chernobel nuclear power plant blew up we had radioactivity detected along the north west coast of California and the local health dept forced dairy farmers to dump their milk products for having too high of a radioactive level.

A similar concoction that is a high concentration of potassium is the name brand "No-Salt" salt substitute. It is a replacement for plain salt, sodium chloride, that while claimed to taste just as good as salt, is a reasonable replacement if you can get past the metal taste of it.
It is 100% Potassium Chloride and to make it palatable, I mix it 50-50 with regular iodized sodium chloride. That combination gets me both potassium and iodine with the smattering of necessary sodium.
I plan to get several packages of the No-Salt substitute in place of KI since it is likely a lot more available since not many are aware of what it is.

If you go to alternative doctors offices and/or chiropractors...many sell a product (wonderful stuff I take every single day) call iodoral. It is potassium iodide and most folks are not aware of it. You can also get it shipped overnight to you from a variety of websites. My favorite is quackcenter.com and I actually take 8 of the 12.5mg tabs each day. It is available in 12.5 and 50 mg tablets and is a much more pure organic formula that a body is receptive to. Good luck.

Just checked...magnoliapharmacy.com has it and it is the best price I have found. They offer overnight shipping too.

my wife and I are planning to move some cabinets from our garage down to the basement to increase our pantry size. we are planning to can a lot more vegetables this summer. I subscribed to backwoodsman magazine. I bought a couple of them and found some pretty useful info in them. I started a project with a mosin noigant that I picked up last year. I am sporterizing it to make it more compact. Going well so far.
