Frugal tip of the day: We're fans of fried potatoes, beans, and tortillas - simple home storage fares. Read an obscure article about how much food is wasted and people didn't even know it was okay to eat. Green onions: cut off about the top inch or so and the root at the bottom after washing. Mix them babies with your potatoes as they are frying and they are so good - no waste. :cowboy:

Does it fit your hand and is it comfortable to shoot?

Fits my hand perfectly. It actually has a larger [slightly longer] handle than my baby's Pink Lady. I haven't shot it yet but watching the video on Armory Video Theater it seems to have a lesser kick. I made one mistake when I went to the gun shop to pick it up - I let my wife hold it. Little Ruger has a baby brother on it's way. She liked it so well.

:5: This may or may not fit into a prepping mode - but if you're out in a retreat, the world has gone to hell, there are no plumbers, but you have baking soda and salt, this is for you for unclogging drains. We had a severe plugged drain in our basement laundry room (sink drain) and all I could think of was, 'Oh no, not a plumber!. I looked this up and it worked within 10 minutes. I cheated a little but first poured the dry mix in the drain and instead of waiting a couple hours like the article said I poured 3 quarts of boiling water down the drain. Then after about 10 minutes I turned the hot water faucet on full blast and within 30 seconds the clog was gone. No chemicals, just baking soda and salt.

You haven't been walking the planet longer than me :cowboy:

First time for me too. See how enjoyable the first time is? My wife just slapped me. In all seriousness this is the first time I had heard about this one - until I looked it up on the internet. I did stand there and watch the chemical reaction and listen to the rumble. I can't believe something so simple and safe. Thank you Mr. Plumber, whoever the hell you are.

Don't know if these prices are good or not. I got this by e-mail. Western Montana Tactical has an ammo sale.

These prices are about the same as everyone else's during the current ammunition shortage. I see much higher prices on the GunsAmerica site where they have auctions for ammunition. In Oregon there is no ammo in any of the stores.

Never too early to start with next winter's preps. My neighbor is remodeling his house and threw out untreated framing material and then was kind enough to flip it over my fence. I've been breaking it up for kindling. To heck with using a saw to cut it up. I have 2x2 steel suports under my garage overhang and I just put the wood against it and bend till it breaks in woodstove size. The pile in this picture was 3 times this size two days ago and neighbor has another big pile he wants to put over the fence, as well as tree trimmings that have dried out.

Not that we need rice (buckets of it in home storage) but had two big blessings this week. We were shopping at our local Smith's store and there was a burlap (sealed bag) on the shelf of jasmine rice marked $11. Inside the burlap bag were five 10-lb bags of rice which should have sold for $11 each, 50 pounds total. The store manager said 'we have to sell the big bag to you at the marked price. So we bought it. We bought a 5-lb bag of brown rice which sold for $6.99. Later that day we were at Dollar Tree and they had 2-lb bags of brown rice for $1 each. Bought 12 bags (24 pounds total) for $12 and took the unopened 5-lb bag from Smith's back for a refund. Ain't God good! Rice is versatile and will feed a lot of people, We are using rice from a container that is almost 20 years old, with no off-taste OR bugs.

Saw this in a local advertising flyer so I decided to look it up at Amazon. YIKES! $999.00. However, that said and done, it would be a life-saver for those who are dependent upon refrigerated medication such as insulin. I'm thinking long and hard on this one.

Folks, me and my honey have been taking elderberry extract every single morning for over twenty years. I am not giving medical advice so use your God-given intelligence. I can count on one hand the number of minor colds we have had and NO flu. We have not taken flu shots! DO YOUR RESEARCH and make your own decision. P.S. I just snagged 12 8-oz bottles of extract on Amazon for $5.59 each, normally about $15.00.
